THE TEACHER

ACTING:  Kelly’s formal training includes a BFA from Denison University (DU for outstanding performance by a woman) and a certificate of Merit from the London Shakespeare Studio.  While at Denison, she was a founding member of the improv comedy group - Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company - with Steve Carell.


DIRECTING:  Kimball learned to direct by working on Broadway under Mike Nichols, Neil Simon and Gordon Davidson.  She has directed original theater works for The Lab Theater, The Performance Workshop, and The HBO Aspen Comedy Festival.  She co-created and directed the series "Kill Me Now" for Turner Broadcasting.


WRITING/PRODUCING:  Kelly has written and sold original pilot scripts for NBC, CBS, and FOX.  She served as Executive Producer on "Make My Day" for the WB, and Co-executive producer on "My Kind of Town" for ABC.


THE STUDIO

Kimball studio is distinguished by Kelly herself, who encourages actors to take risks, to find specifics and to show up ready to work deep into themselves as the way toward tightening their skill set.  Classes are productive, intimate and comprehensive – functioning to prepare actors to work.  And, the collaboration with industry guests as well as The Thursday Thing, new energy, ideas and talent are constantly influencing the charge of the space and the students.
